To provide quality education in physics with a competitive knowledge base, while providing excellence in critical thinking to solve practical problems in science and engineering.
- Provide conceptual knowledge with a focus on applied engineering courses.
- Redefine traditional boundaries in teaching, research and outreach programs.
The department of Physics was established in the year 2009. The curriculum of the department focuses on imparting fundamental concepts of physics relevant to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education. The strength of the department is their well qualified and research oriented faculty members. The major research areas of the department are materials sciences, solid state physics, remote sensing, space and atmospheric sciences, astrophysics and computational physics. The faculty members actively participate in various national and international conferences and publish their research articles in journals with good impact factors. The faculty members have research collaborations with various reputed national and international universities, labs and institutes.
